A US legal firm has a vacancy for a Business Development Manager to join their Manchester office. The primary focus for this role is to work with the leadership to define and execute business growth objectives, identify target opportunities, develop and coordinate business development plans and work with related teams to grow the firm's business base.

Taking into account and playing to the global platform in addition to the local and regional responsibilities, the Business Development Manager will serve as a catalyst and facilitator for client expansion and targeted initiatives and will be expected to utilise creativity, tenacity and leadership to implement and measure sound business development and marketing strategies that will be the foundation for profitable growth. The successful candidate will provide advice on strategy, client relationship building, and marketing and sales techniques and take a firm wide view towards inclusive participation across practice groups to maximise client relationships and growth and revenue opportunities. The individual will need to build trust-based relationships with internal clients and anticipate the needs of the practice, industry and offices and their members.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a marketing, communications or other business degree. A business or marketing masters or CIM qualification is highly desirable with substantial business development, marketing, sales or related experience to include international experience in a professional services environment. The Business Development Manager will have an exceptional work ethic and attention to detail with the ability to effectively facilitate and work with teams, be action-oriented and approach obstacles with a positive, "can-do" approach, be a self-starter and project self-confidence, with the ability to multi-task and handle a large volume of time-sensitive deadlines.
