Marketing and Business Development Manager | Professional Services |Manchester
We are looking to recruit a strategic and dynamic Business Development Manager for this high profile International Professional Services firm. Although based in the regions this is a rare opportunity in a non London centric firm with a truly International remit. The role focuses on driving client expansion and targeted initiatives ,utilising creativity, tenacity and leadership to help the leadership and members of the sector Groups and the Manchester office, to implement and measure sound business development and marketing strategies that will be the foundation for profitable growth.

The business development manager provides advice on strategy, client relationship building, and marketing/sales techniques and takes a firm wide view towards inclusive participation across offices and practices to maximize client relationships and growth/revenue opportunities. You will trust-based relationships with internal clients and anticipates the needs of the practices and their members.

Key responsibilities:
Working with the sector groups and the Manchester office to support and develop the industry group and office business plans, including forward accountability, best practice delivery, follow up and evaluation
Source, develop and share industry market intelligence to inform business planning and strategic decision making for the industry groups.
Equip Industry Group Leaders and their Groups, supporting Business Development Managers and senior management with regular global financial and pipeline reporting on key clients, new clients and new matters, BD budget spend, and worldwide distribution of revenues.
Develop and maintain in collaboration with Business Development Managers a programme of industry thought leadership and insightful responses to key industry issues and market trends impacting the firm's client base
Provide support in preparing responses to domestic and cross-border requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and other pitches, proposals, capability statements and client-facing materials for new or expanded business and work with global pitch team when appropriate
Working alongside the Manchester Managing Partner, roll out of the Client listening programme with the key clients of the office including the creation of client specific BD plans

The successful candidate will be/have:
Educated to degree level - Marketing, communications or other business degree, preferred. Business/Marketing Masters or CIM qualification would be desirable.
Minimum of five years business development and marketing experience - preferably international experience in a professional services environment.
Proven project management track record.
Must be able to effectively manage within a highly matrix environment.
Experience developing client development/BD plans and supporting a BD function.
