An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Directories Support Manager to join a commercially astute law firm with a strong international focus on a 6 month fixed term contract basis.

The firm has recently recruited a new BD Director to enhance the effectiveness of the business development and marketing function and to lead an exciting and wide-ranging change programme aimed at increasing the impact and effectiveness of business development, marketing and communications activities. The firm submits over 30 submissions per annum to Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 and the new BD Director has identified that the current legal directories process offers opportunities for improvement. The process of collation and submission involves liaising with lead partners on each submission as well as helping write submissions and ensure they are submitted correctly. Steps have already been taken to improve the process and the firm is seeking an experienced law firm marketer with significant directories experience to pick up and take forward the current directories submission process for Chambers & Partners UK in December 2018 and February 2019 as well as Legal 500 in Spring 2019. The Legal Directories Support Manager will work with two BD Managers and a BD Executive to lead on the submissions process and the role holder will be responsible for the delivering the firm's submissions either by dealing directly with partners and other fee earners who are leading on directory submissions or by working closely with the BD team responsible for practice marketing and helping them liaise with and advise the lead partners for each submission. You will be expected to seek improvements in the process with the aim of increasing the firm's chances of better rankings by creating more tailored and effective submissions that best showcase practices and individuals and by ensuring that both referees, submission material and credentials are submitted on time and are dovetailed to improve the chances of a positive research response and that the firm is more proactive in terms of understanding research periods and being more active in ensuring partners are priming referees to respond to researchers when they are approached.

This role would suit a dynamic, astute and enthusiastic marketeer, who is keen to have a real impact in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Commercially aware and sensitive to the concerns and needs of internal and external clients, it is essential that the Legal Directories Support Manager is professional and personable with a mature attitude and possesses the ability to work appropriately with people at all levels of an organisation. Demonstrable expertise and knowledge of the legal directories process, a track record of delivering change and enhancements within previous roles and proven project management experience in a professional services business development environment are all prerequisite.
