An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join an international law firm, as part of the International Relations Team on a permanent 3 day job share basis.

The Senior BD Manager, will work closely with their counterpart and the partners and other team members, to drive and implement international business development initiatives for the firm in relation to Europe and other jurisdictions. The role will be a 3 day, Monday to Wednesday, job share working alongside a Senior BD Manager already established within the team, who will also be working 3 days a week, Wednesday to Friday.

The role holder will enjoy a broad role. You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the business strategy and objectives, formulate a business development and marketing plan and subsequently implement and monitor its progress. You will work directly with the Country Partners to refine and develop the proposition and products for clients in relation to work in those countries and will have responsibility for managing the BD activity around certain priority countries, promoting internal cross selling and tracking and analysing market trends in relevant countries, keeping partners and fee-earners fully informed. You will also support the fee-earners in preparation of the group's pitches working closely with BD members in the practice groups and pitch team, and develop client plans for specific targets, conducting research, market and client analysis as required. In addition, the successful applicant will work with Country Partners to formulate strategy on relationships with local counsel in the jurisdictions, actively monitoring relationships with local counsel. You will formulate joint objectives with local counsel and drive forward the implementation of those objectives. In addition, you will have responsibility for managing a BD Executive and overseeing and guiding their activities.

With extensive international business to business marketing and business development experience, preferably gained in a law firm or in professional services, and with awareness of cultural sensitivities, the ideal candidate will be a pro-active, analytical and numerate team players, with a high attention to detail and strong communication, influencing and people skills. It is essential that you thrive working under pressure and are able to demonstrate a previous track record of prioritising and delivering complex and multiple projects to tight deadlines and possess a strong ability to analyse and interpret data.
