Job Purpose (Job Summary): 

Digital Distribution is a newly created team @ Invesco which consists of 40 hand-picked individuals from Digital Marketing, Technology and the CRM function. Think of us as like a tribe of digital activists who focus on corporate and sector disruption who have a healthy disregard for anything digital traditional investment managers have done in the past. We have MASSIVE aspirations as a crew but are completely focused on four simple goals:

  1. To generate leads from existing or new clients
  2. To generate assets (get people to invest into our funds) digitally by using technologies such as web-chat
  3. To use digital to give clients and visitors that want it a better, faster and more accessible service
  4. TO shake-up Invesco by developing new digital operating models to create a “new world order”

As a part of our digital initiatives in 2018 we are setting up an Inbound Marketing Team. The team will have 100% autonomy to develop and distribute quality content to generate web traffic for harvesting into leads on our websites or landing pages. The teams focus will be to execute a high volume of hyper-targeted B2B campaigns to existing and new clients to achieve one of three goals:

  1. Generate traffic that we can sell to onto our web assets
  2. Create engagement with our website’s content to drive a desired lead score threshold
  3. Generate quality B2B traffic to the website to complete a measured online goal (such as a CTA click or form submission)

To this note, our team is looking for a highly experienced B2B Paid Traffic Specialist to help us achieve our massive aspirations for the inbound team. This role will encompass operating and executing on all paid platforms such as Google PPC / Retargeting / Display, Double Click, paid Social Media platforms, and any other platform experience you can bring to us to help us generate quality traffic. We would love to hear from individuals from a PPC / Traffic agency, travel or FMGC background who have real execution experience operating these platforms. This role will not be to manage agencies to execute online paid traffic strategies so it is essential you have the relevant execution experience and are comfortable with transparent traffic quality and quantitative KPI’s. For the right person, this role will be revolutionary to the way we engage and generate new clients on our website.

Skills you will have:

  • First and foremost, you will be a total paid traffic specialist Ninja (or Jedi)
  • Experience in another B2B paid traffic generation role not within financial services experience. You should be able to demonstrate your experience running successful paid traffic generation campaigns
  • Proven strategies to measure traffic quality (for example is this traffic from a business I can sell our products too?)
  • Yeas of experience and expertise at setting up and managing campaigns as well as platform operating experience using the following (at a minimum):
  • Google PPC platform
  • Google Double Click (would be an advantage)
  • Paid Social Media platforms (In-particular LinkedIn)
  • Any other platform experiences you can bring to the table would be a massive advantage
  • Highly proficient at using quantitative methods to measure your activity
  • Experience using Google Analytics or conversion code to measure the goals of paid traffic on our website
  • The ability to start a paid traffic programme from beginning right through to execution
  • A solid understanding of inbound marketing methodology
  • A solid understanding on how Marketing Automation / Lead scoring is used by inbound marketing teams to generate leads
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you are progressive in your approach to generating traffic
  • You will need to be proactive

Enablement projects:

We have taken a little time to think about this role and we think there will be a few key projects / things you will need to complete to ensure your success within this role. However, we would love your feedback on these:

  • You will need to develop relationships internally with sales to get to know our clients as best as possible
  • Carry out a review (with our analytics guru) of our current paid traffic generation practices and benchmark the results of the activity
  • Draw up a plan to get a nice baseline of stable and consistent paid traffic activity going
  • Draw up a pipeline of proof-of-concepts you can execute on short and long-term to understand where you can find the right type of traffic
  • Develop a way with the analytics manager to measure and socialise your results in real-time with the business
  • Build super strong relationships with the inbound team such as the content curator, front end guys and the marketing automation guys to ensure your activity compliments the whole inbound process

Day-to-Day responsibility:

  • Work with the Inbound Marketing team to generate a high volume of targeted paid traffic campaigns
  • Ensure that you are meeting KPI’s which for this activity their will be three:
  • Cost of traffic
  • Quality of traffic (can we sell to it)
  • Engagement of traffic (measured by the time a visitor spends on the page)
  • Ensure the reporting of the above KPI’s is transparent across our team and business
  • Consistently generating new ideas to generate traffic. To do this you will split your time so that you can test a pipeline of new ideas to find value
  • You will help us focus on our goals:
  • Generating leads from existing or new clients
  • Generating sales online
  • Doing things quickly (speed-to-market)

  • Educated to a degree level or if not are able to clearly demonstrate that you are an expert in all the above skills
