Senior Bids Executive
Under the leadership of the BD and Marketing Director, this legal practice is looking for a Senior Bids Executive to join its driven and dynamic marketing department. The principal aim of this role is to ensure that all bids are dealt with effectively and efficiently, whilst promoting best practice across the firm.
The Senior Bid Executive will work within a very busy bid team, alongside a Tenders Executive, and report to the Bid Manager. They will work closely with team and sector heads and their teams to develop winning bids. You will be responsible for monitoring procurement portals for potential opportunities; holding kick off meetings and pursuing content for bids; managing and prioritising tender executive resource; project managing a wide range of bids; working closely with partners to develop winning strategies and propositions; drafting, editing and proof reading compelling content, reflecting agreed messages; conducting win/loss reviews and identifying themes and addressing appropriately; gathering best practice and case studies and ensuring these are disseminated to the entire BD team; managing and maintaining the team's tender library and resources; maintaining statistics on wins and losses; and other projects as agreed with the Bid Manager and Director of Marketing and BD. The Senior Bid Executive has responsibility to ensure that their skills set are up to date and that they are familiar with the firm's internal systems and procedures. This will ensure that they are able to carry out their role effectively and to the best of their ability.
You should have a sound understanding of the complexities of bid management in a professional services environment; have a good practical understanding of, and/or qualification in, APMP principles; be commercially aware; be able to build relationships at all levels quickly; be able to coach and influence at partner level; be able to analyse issues and identify creative solutions; have strong project management skills; be technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications; have excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills; be able to work calmly under pressure, to juggle multiple deadlines; have excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and logical approach; and be a team player who is able to manage, motivate and work alongside others; be flexible, committed and good-humoured; self-motivated and proactive and able to work without direct supervision, but be a team player who is able to work alongside others.
