Strategic, commercial and client-facing Senior Account Manager to drive the Banking and Insurance spaces.

The strategy for the FI team is designed to provide a sharper focus on market issues in order to prioritise growth opportunities and align resources to deliver them. The plan is to obtain transformational growth of our sector market share as well as extending the dominant position across core service lines.

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Leader and Head of Financial Institutions, you will need to use your influencing and powerful communication skills to be credibility and challenge the FI leadership team - the Partners and Directors. A pivotal part of the role is a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers for the firm the Financial Services sector and our clients.

You will also need to be creative and innovative in shaping key business messages to a diverse audience. Excellent project management skills will be required as is a proven track record in opportunity management and sales effectiveness.



Core Remit:

Priority Accounts & External Partners

  • Lead the client feedback programme, working with the BD team to ensure messages and learnings are shared and acted upon to help increase opportunity conversion and client satisfaction
  • Work with the FI Leader and COO on special projects designed to progress key growth opportunities, executing high-priority activities, proposition development and pursuits across priority accounts to drive pipeline and opportunities
  • Work to develop key propositions for priority client accounts and capability groups
  • Act as strategic advisor to the FI leaders on all activities, growth plans, market opportunities, client issues and channels to market
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to ensure relevant insight is fed into thought leadership, and marketing campaigns are properly targeted and driven to deliver positive ROI
  • Build external relationships with key industry bodies and opinion formers creating an external footprint
  • Attend client, prospect and/or intermediary events, and ensure effective follow up on these events
  • Work with Global and EMEA teams to collaborate and align sales and marketing activity to be most effective
  • Uses industry knowledge to identify, challenge and where required escalate issues related to client, key industry body and other alliance and partner relationships

Internal Community

  • Lead the internal comms strategy to develop a connected team, platform for sharing information, developing content, identifying issues and best practice
  • Act as the person to whom the FI Leader would delegate activities related to team offsites, townhalls, alumni and NED events, and reporting financials
  • Work with the COO to plan, implement and manage MI, processes and tools to improve sales performance
  • Work with the COO to report financial results and budget forecasts, identifying and articulating resourcing requests to grow revenue, ensuring thorough understanding of our full pipeline of activity and opportunities to make resourcing and investment decisions

    Skills, Experience & Traits:

    • Proven track record in business development, sales and client relationship management, ideally within a professional services environment
    • Experience in the banking and/or insurance client space - confident with regulation content, with the ability to quickly understand risk and regulatory topics
    • Expert understanding of targeting and opportunity management with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives
    • Strong people management and development skills with experience of managing teams
    • Strong experience developing client propositions and excellent project management skills
    • The ability to form networks with partners and staff at all levels and influence effectively
    • A sound business understanding as well as being commercially and risk aware
    • Client facing business development experience, with a proven track record of relationship management and revenue conversion
    • Tenacity and robustness, when working across different teams and facing business challenges and an ability to challenge stakeholders
